PassType is a small device you can bring with you everywhere and use it to make your life easier.
Safely store and type automatically password, make macros and keyboard automations, expand and customize your device and if you want to, learn about programming and cryptography.

HID

Hardware Interface Device acts as an input device and it is detected by your computer as a keyboard and mouse all in one. It can control the device you connect it to without sharing data with it!

Open

The OpenHardware and OpenSoftware approach ensure your device is a fully trusted platform tested by everyone in the community.  You don’t need to trust our words, trust evidence and facts! You can easily write and edit code with Arduino IDE.

Secure

PassType commercial version can securely store you sensible data. The most precious things you have (credit cards, car/house keys, wallet, sentimental objects) are always with you in you pocket. Now your passwords will be there too.

Diy, professionals and education

PassType is a project divided in two big streams: PassType and PassTypeShield.

PassType is a commercial, “ready to use” device, very powerful and very small, with integrated hardware encryption and expandable memory. It is the best choice for professional and daily use. The EDU version is a simple, yet intuitive platform to learn about cryptography and is breadboard compatible!

PassTypeShield is a DIY project built around the Arduino Pro Micro. It is not very powerful, it doesn’t offer a secure password storing system and it has very limited functions but… you can build it with your hands! From this website you can buy PCB and parts kit to help you with this project.

Our Roadmap

PassType was born from a prototype made public by Davide Nesi in an online contest on Instructables. The success of the project was very surprising. Eero Prittinen immidiatly joined the project and the team started developing a better and integrated solution based on the prototype concepts. Soon PassType will enter crowdfunding and fabrication phase!
